NEPSE GAINS 8.64 POINTS; TRH TRANSACTION PROPELS MARKET TURNOVER TO RS 912 MILLION

Buoyed by yesterday’s buying sentiment, the stock market of Nepal added further 8.64 points as more demand for listed scrips flooded in the market today. Following gain, the benchmark index came to settle at 932.19 level.
In addition to upbeat rally, the market turnover today breached the threshold of Rs 900 million to tally at Rs 912.49 million which is nearly double than yesterday’s figure of Rs 471.91 million.
Such a huge boost was mainly triggered by the Taragaon Regency Hotel’s massive turnover of Rs 216.07 million in ordinary share and Rs 84.08 million turnover in preference share.
Also, more than Rs 10 million turnovers in scrips such as NHPC, NBL, CHCL, SLICL, NBB, NCC, LICN, NBF-1, SCB, NIL, SLICLP, EBL, SANIMA, SDBLPO and MBL also attributed to incline.
Excluding the block transaction of TRH, the market turnover today stood at Rs 607.20 million.
All in all, the scrips of 138 companies were traded, out of which 75 scrips gained, 23 remained intact and 40 scrips lost.
Banking and Insurance sectors today had the high numbers of gainers which propelled the sub-groups by 10.03 points and 43.19 points respectively.
Similarly, Hotels and Hydro also witnessed double digit surge of 39.67 points and 27.95 points as most of its shares also landed on green. Likewise, Trading, Development and Manufacturing were rest to follow with gain of 2.87 points, 5.69 points and 2.56 points respectively.
While, Others and Finance were the only sub-indices to land on red terrain with loss of 2.35 points and 3.62 points respectively.
The best performer for the day was, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 750, with Rs 68 or 9.97 percent gain. Whereas, Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL), closed at Rs 165, was the worst performer today with Rs 18 or 9.84 percent loss.
