NEPSE gains 4.29 points and closes at 1,565.55 after a day of intense volatility

The NEPSE index gained 4.29 points (0.27%) today and ultimately closed at 1,565.55.

The NEPSE had gained aggressively in the last hour. However, the enthusiasm could not be sustained and the index slid down eventually. Thus, even though the index rose a bit, the volatility of 13.32 points was seen, with the highest point being 1,575.43 and the lowest being 1,562.11.

19,972,311 shares traded hands. In comparison, only 8,971,303 shares were traded on Thursday last week. 42,108 transactions produced a total turnover of Rs. 3.13 Arba. 191 scrips were traded.

The float index gained 0.49 points and closed at 108.71 while the Sensitive index is at 310.47 after gaining 0.9 points.

Soaltee Hotel Limited (SHL)'s shares produced the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 48.56 crores. Its shares also traded the most.

A total of seven companies hit a 10% positive circuit, technically. They are Best Finance Company Limited (BFC), Mountain Hydro Nepal Limited (MHNL), Nepal Finance Limited (NFS), Rairang Hydropower Development Company Limited. (RRHP), Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL), Barun Hydropower Company Limited (BARUN), and Ankhukhola Hydropower Company Limited (AKJCL).

Meanwhile, Unilever Nepal Limited (UNL) lost the most 7.11%. This can be seen as a reaction to the company's dividend announcement. Unilever Nepal Limited is only distributing Rs. 100 per share as a dividend this time while its shares are one of the highest valued shares in NEPSE.

Seven sectors lost today and five others gained. Hotels gained the most 2.98% while Manufacturing lost the most 1.47%.
