NEPSE gains 23.32 points in the first day after Tihar; Five companies hit positive circuit

The NEPSE index closed today at 1,741.81, gaining 23.32 points from last week's close. The market resumed after five days of the Tihar holiday. The market opened at 1,714.86 in the morning. While the lowest point was 1,708.87, the market-close itself is the intraday-high. Thus, the total volatility of 32.94 points was witnessed during trading hours today.
11,674,875 shares exchanged hands via 43,673 transactions. The trading of 194 scrips brought the total market turnover to a little over Rs. 4.71 Arba. This is the third-highest intraday turnover in all of NEPSE's history. The all-time high was created just this year on March 01 with a turnover of a little over Rs. 4.84 Arba.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 33.62 crores. It closed at Rs. 1,037 today. Meanwhile, the shares of Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) traded the most. PRVU closed at Rs. 297 today.
Five companies hit a 10% positive circuit today. They are Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL), Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL), Bishal Bazar Company Limited (BBC), Bottlers Nepal (Terai) Limited (BNT), and Salt Trading Corporation Limited (STC).
On the other side of things, Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) lost the most 5.8%.
Three sectors lost while nine others closed green. While hydropower lost the most 1.29%, Trading gained the most 9.98%.
