NEPSE GAINS 2.13 POINTS

Recovering its way further, the secondary market of Nepal today added 2.13 points to its tally. With the surge, the local bourse today came to settle at 783.15 level.

With the nearing of the quarter end, the offloading of shares is fading out. Most of the investors and traders to meet their debt obligation liquidate their position almost twenty or more days prior to quarter end which attributes to decline in the market like that of recent days.

However, once the investors and traders have liquidated enough position to meet their debt obligation, the market tends to gradually increase as the previous seller tends to shift their position to buying.

Prevailed by such factor, the local bourse this week landed in green zone for three trading days out of five which in prior weeks’ used to be one trading day, if one month data is to go by.

The gain in today’s session was mainly attributed by the hotels, hydro, insurance and other scrips while all three banking and financial institutions sectors’ shares played the opposite role.

Hotel made the highest surge today of 72.67 points followed by Hydro with 31.26 points and Insurance with 28.56 points. As for Others, it inclined by 2.35 points.

Whereas, Banking continued with its downfall as it dropped by 1.33 points. Similarly, Development suffered loss of 0.05 point and Finance decreased by 1.77 points .

Altogether there were trade of 124 scrips, among which 59 scrips gained, 16 scrips remained intact and 49 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded ordinary scrips was Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBB), closed Rs 3289, with a gain of Rs 299 or 10 percent.

Likewise, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), which had resumed its trading from yesterday after hiatus of months, today also continued with its upbeat performance as it added another 9.52 percent or Rs 12 to its level. The scrip today closed at Rs 138 with 52 transactions totaling 76,180 units worth of Rs 10,495,360

Whereas, Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd. (GSDBL), closed at Rs 148, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 12 or 7.50 percent among ordinary shares.

The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1765, with turnover of Rs 58,171,275, totaling 33,137 units which were traded through 209 transactions.

 The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 41 (Linch Stock Market Limited) with 10.83 percent standalone dealing, totaling 7,205 units worth Rs 12,597,505 via 21 transactions, which include two matching transactions tallying 126 units worth Rs 223,092.

The market turnover today stood at Rs 320,559,271, with total number of shares traded at 702,571 units which were traded through 2,496 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 798,249.40 Millions..
