NEPSE Gains 1.55 Points and Closes at 2,544.94, Intraday Turnover Inches to Rs. 2.6 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 2,544.94 today after gaining a minimal 1.55 points from last trading day's closing. The index had lost 3.66 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,542.66 today and made the intraday high at 2,566.29. While it went as low as 2,538.44, it ultimately closed at 2,544.94. This has led to the formation of a small body candle on the candlestick chart, indicating a balance, perhaps confusion, in bullish and bearish sentiment.

230 scrips traded hands via 40,130 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 5,315,292 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 2.6 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 2.493 Arba.

SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) had the highest turnover of Rs. 27.69 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,107 per share.

The shares of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) were traded the most.

Meanwhile, Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company Limited (BNHC) gained the highest 5.89% and closed at Rs. 703. On the other side of things, Panchthar Power Company Limited (PPCL) lost the highest 6.9% and closed at 418.

Five sector indices have gained while eight others closed red. "Others" gained the highest 1.58% while "Finance" lost the highest 1.34%.
