NEPSE gains 12.49 points in first day of the week; Turnover surges to Rs. 3.52 Arba

The NEPSE index closed at 1,648.58 points today, gaining 12.49 points from last week's close. The index opened at 1,643.29 in the morning. Total volatility of 10.78 points was witnessed during market hours today, with the lowest point being 1,637.80 and the highest being the market-close itself.

10,863,456 shares traded hands via 41,767 transactions. 198 scrips traded to produce a total daily turnover of a little over Rs. 3.52 Arba. This is a significant surge in turnover compared to the turnover seen in the last few trading days.

The Float index gained 0.6 points and closed at 114.70 while the Sensitive index is at 325.94 after gaining 1.57 points.

Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC) has the highest individual scrip turnover of Rs. 25.92 crores. The shares of Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) traded the most today.

A total of six companies hit a 10% positive circuit today. They are Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL), Salt Trading Corporation Limited (STC), Dibyashwari Hydropower Company Limited (DHPL), Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBBL), Universal Power Company Limited (UPCL), and Sanima General Insurance Limited (SGI).

Meanwhile, BishaNepal Finance Limited (NFS) lost the most 3.57%, followed by Civil Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (CLBSL) which lost 2.76%.

Banking and Development Banking lost today, with Development Banking losing the highest 0.32%. Among all other sectors that gained, Trading gained a massive 8.58%.
