NEPSE GAINS 0.91 POINT

Nepal Stock Exchange after opening below the prior week’s closing level, came to green pasture in the last minute of the trade to close at 529.84 level. From the start the local bourse was in decreasing trend for the half of the trading period then after taking support at 526.5 level, it gradually started to increase to add 0.91 points at the end of the day.

Today with the smooth operation in the trading without any technical glitch as that of prior week, the market saw a huge surge in its transaction and turnover. The turnover amount at the end of the day stood around Rs 132,543,580 which is comparatively Rs 45,296,982 or 51.92% higher than the prior trading day. Overall, 373,469 units of share were traded via 1,028 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 510,427.70 Million at the end of the day.

Among the sub-indices, Insurance and Others were two of the heavy gainers today, as both climbed by 10.53 and 5.87 points respectively. The growth in Insurance came with the jump in the price of Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SICL), Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) and National LifeInsu. Co. Ltd. (NLICL) by more than Rs 20. While, Gurans Life Insurance Co. Ltd (GLICL), closed at Rs 151, which has proposed to distribute 6.5% bonus share to shareholders after approval of Beema Samiti and its upcoming AGM, dropped by Rs 6. Similarly, the incline in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 5 pushed the Other sector further in green territory.

Likewise, Hotels, Development and Banking also increased by 0.75, 0.6 and 0.04 points respectively. Under Development, the increment in Ace Development Bank Limited (ACE) and Diprox Development Bank (DBBL) by Rs 10 each mainly help to sustain the sector in the positive field. Whereas in Hotels, the soar in the price of Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL) by Rs 2 mainly contributed in the sector’s jump.

As for Finance and Hydro, both plummeted by 1.52 and 3.16 points respectively. Under Finance, Siddharth Finance Ltd (SFL), closed at Rs 132, increased by Rs 8 today;  the news of company’s proposal to distribute 17.21% bonus share to shareholders after approval of NRB and its upcoming AGM was well received in the market as it had positive impact in its price level.

Overall there were 79 scrips traded among which 38 scrips increased, 11 remain intact and 30 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. Promoter Share (NIBP), closed at Rs 410, with Rs 239 or 139.77%. Whereas in ordinary shares, Ace Development Bank Limited(ACE), closed at Rs 117, topped with Rs 10 or 9.35%. In case of top loser, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 1000, topped with Rs 50 or 4.76%.

In terms of highest shares traded and turnover, Sanima Bank Ltd. (Sanima), closed at Rs 276, topped  with 179,606 units worth Rs 48,507,864 via 21 transactions; in which Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) was the most active broker with 98.19% stands alone dealing of the Sanima, tallying 176,410 units worth Rs 47,630,700 via 2 matching transactions.
