NEPSE GAIN BY MEAGER 0.18 POINTS

Nepal Stock Exchange today made a gain of 0.18 points to close at 514.49. Though Nepse incremented by 2 points at the beginning of the trade, the plummet in the Hydro and Others sector pulled the local bourse in the red zone. However, following the surge in the levels of Banking, Hotels and Insurance help to sustain the benchmark index in the positive zone.

With the publication of sound second quarter financial report of Everest Bank Ltd., Nepal Credit And Com. Bank ,Sanima Bank Ltd. and Global IME Bank Limited, the Banking sector got a boost of 1.08 points. The published report uplifted the level of EBL, NCC, Sanima and Global IME by Rs 6, Rs 17, Rs 3 and Rs 8 respectively. The rise in the NCC, closed at Rs 187, by 10% today was the highest among the traded shares; the company has posted the net profit of Rs 155.50 million which compared to the previous corresponding quarter is up by 109%. Similarly, Hotels and Insurance ascended by 11.72 and 6.47 points respectively.

Whereas, the plunge in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 3 dragged the sector down by 3.53 points. Likewise, plummet in the level of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 6 and Rs 4 pushed the sector further south by 3.02 points.

As for Development and Finance, both subsided by 1.44 and 0.74 points respectively. Under Development, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bikas Bank Ltd (SWBBL) has decided to distribute 26.58% cash dividend and 5% bonus share to shareholders after approval of NRB and its upcoming AGM. The announcement made the scrip attractive among the investors today as a resulted it boosted the scrip by Rs 14 to close at Rs 335.
 
Overall there were 89 scrips traded among which 27 scrip increased, 8 remain intact and 54 scrip decreased. The highest loser of the day was Union Finance Ltd. (UFL), closed at Rs 108, with Rs 12 or 10%.

In case of highest share traded, Janata Bank Nepal Ltd. (JBL), closed at Rs 168, topped with 26,361 units.

In terms of highest turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1079, topped with 7,448 units worth Rs 8,073,372 via 49 transactions; in which Broker No 8 (Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 27.57% stand alone dealing of CHCL, tallying 2,054 units worth Rs 2,225,538 via 8 buying transactions.   

Altogether today 254,611 shares were traded via 1,324 transactions worth Rs 71,292,751 and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 495,649.60 Millions.
