NEPSE FURTHER SHED BY 1.59 POINTS

The Nepse benchmark index further shed today as the local bourse made a downhill of 1.59 points to close at 495.80 levels. Following the opening over the yesterday’s closing, the lack of demand in the market forced the market index to gradually decline; by the second hour of trade the Nepse index tumble to the lowest level of 494.32. However, entry of the buyers in the last hour of trade helped the local bourse to narrow its loss by some points.
Among the sub-indices, Others sector suffered the highest loss of 8.22 points followed by Banking with 1.31 points and Development with 0.40 points. While, Hotels incremented by 3.22 points followed by Hydro with a 2.14 points incline. Similarly, Finance and Insurance were able to make gain of 1.29 and 1.86 points respectively.
Overall there were trades of 94 scrips among which 36 scrips increased 13 remained intact and 45 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd (SIC), closed at Rs 1166, with Rs 106 or 10% gain. Whereas, NB Insurance Co. Ltd. (NBIL), closed at Rs 85, was the worst performer with Rs 9 or 9.57% loss. Among the share trading above par, Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EIC), closed at Rs 336, was the top loser with Rs 12 or 3.45% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.30, topped with 44,075 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CNTBL), closed at Rs 143, topped with 31,748 units.
In terms of turnover, Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL), closed at Rs 1740, topped with 3,401 units worth Rs 5,902,908 via 6 transactions. The most active Broker with the highest stand-alone dealing of NABIL was Broker no 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 90.62%, tallying 6,166 units worth Rs 10,698,840 via 5 transactions which includes 2 matching transactions totaling 3,000 units worth Rs 5,205,000.
Altogether there were trade of 223,101 units of share via 1,092 transactions worth Rs 59,358,545; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 491,245.90 Millions.
