Journeying on the support of the strong investor confidence, the market index rallied further today by 4.6 points to emplace itself at five months high.
Market today proved wrong for all those who predicted downfall in the index because of the dithery meeting between government and 33 party alliances.
Constructed by the recent two days’ hefty climb, the investors sentiment was inviolable from the get go off the market. Opening from yesterday’s closing; the local bourse never looked back, just climbed to end at day’s high of 548.32 levels.
Ending its misery volatility, Others sector surged by a healthy 12.92 points followed by Hotels with 9.38 points. Similarly, Banking grew by 3.63 points alongside 4.32 point jump of Development and 0.94 points incline of Finance.
Likewise, after yesterday’s correction, Insurance today recouped by 2.79 points whereas Manufacturing remain intact at 886.41 points. As for Hydro, it suffered a loss of 0.61 points.
All in all, the scrips of 114 companies were traded, out of which 73 scrips gained, 15 remained intact and 26 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, City Development Bank Limited (CDBL), closed at Rs 209. Lured by the company’s proposal of 21.3877% bonus shares and 1.1256% cash dividend, the investors today propelled the scrip by Rs 19 or 10%.
Whereas, the worst performer was, Shine Resunga Development Bank Ltd. (SHINE), closed at Rs 258, with Rs 14 or 5.15% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund-1 (NIB1), closed at Rs 10.00, topped with 178,735 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Asian Life Insurance Co. Limited (ALICL) topped with 40,242 units
In terms of top turnover also, Asian Life Insurance Co. Limited (ALICL) topped with turnover worth Rs 14,345,763 via 50 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the ALICL was Broker No 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 52.58%; amounting Rs 15,085,248 via 12 transactions totaling 42,403 units which includes 4 matching transactions tallying 20,788 units worth Rs 7,391,480.
Overall, 876,377 units of share were traded by 2,146 transactions with total turnover worth Rs 194,724,302; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 546,703.59 million.
In news related to the market stakeholders, Prime Life Insurance Company Limited (PLIC) and Nepal Investment Bank Ltd.(NIB) have appointed NABIL Investment Banking Ltd. and NIBL Capital Markets Ltd. to act as share registar on behalf of these companies effective from 2nd and 16th Shrawan, 2070 respectively.
Similarly, the BOD of Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL) dated 2070-04-30 has appointed Mr. Nilesh Ratna Tuladhar as their new Company Secretary.
