NEPSE FALLS TO BREAK 555.93 LEVELS BARRIER AS IT SKIDS BY 0.80 POINTS

Despite nudging its way up to the level of 554 in the opening hour, the market came to slide in the later hours to close in red today.

It seems investors remain skeptic towards index crossing the resistance level of 555.93 which was set after the consensus among political leaders; to form the Chief Justice led government back in the month of February. It is the highest closing level of Nepse following the index plunge to 292.32 levels, back in 2011.

It is bound for the market to make a slight correction while reaching the top level as investors tend to book their prior profit before pounding into the market further. The local bourse today came to skid by 0.80 points to close at 551.37 levels.

Among the sub-indices, hefty gainers of prior days came to suffer losses; Others sector tumble by 10.57 levels followed by Insurance and Banking with 2.34 and 1.77 point drop respectively. While, Finance made a slight decline of 0.42 points.

Whereas, Hydro still continued with its upbeat performance as it made a huge gain of 52.99 points alongside Hotels and Development with  slight growth of 0.18 and 0.21 points respectively.

All in all, the scrips of 108 companies were traded, out of which 45 scrips gained, 13 remained intact and 50 scrips lost.

Nepal Bangladesh Bank (NBB) remained one of the active scrips today also with the highest shares traded and transaction, even though the capitalization of profit by investors dragged the scrip by Rs 10 or 2.67%; the scrip closed at Rs 365. Altogether, 94,905 units of NBB shares were traded by 212 transactions worth Rs 33,732,865.
 
The scrip with the highest turnover today was, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at Rs 1554, with 25,322 units worth 38,985,715 via 150 transactions. Similarly, the scrip also had a marvelous bullish run as it inclined by Rs 87 or 5.93%.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) with 15.17%; amounting Rs 11,834,786 via 30 transactions totaling  7,683 which include  6 matching transactions totaling  1,206 units worth Rs 1,861,340.

The best performer for the day was, Premier Insurance Co. Ltd. (PIC), closed at Rs 166, with Rs 15 or 9.93% gain. Whereas, the worst performer was, Civil Merchant bitty Sanstha  (CMBSL), closed at Rs 99, with Rs 9 or 8.33% loss.

Overall, 615,834 units of share were traded by 2,002 transactions with total turnover worth Rs 226,229,603; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 549,835.83 million.
