NEPSE FALLS 0.72 POINT

Following the prior day’s surge, the market index continued to trade in the green zone in the initial hour. But, with the progress of the session, the benchmark index gradually started to decline and reached the lowest level of 506.69 levels. However, the improvement in the level of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) helped to narrow the loss of local bourse to meager 0.72 points; the Nepse index today closed at 508.36 levels.
Altogether there were trades of eight sectors today, among which only Others sector made surge of 7.05 points following the jump in NTC by Rs 17. Similarly, Trading sector made a growth of 4.59 points and Hotels inclined by 1.13 points. While, Insurance made a highest tumble of 6.15 points whereas Hydro made descent of 5.88 points. Likewise, Banking and Financial Institutions sub-indices, Banking dropped by 5.18 points, Development loss 0.16 points whereas Finance remained intact at 250.1 levels.
In Banking, despite the healthy third quarter report of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB) and Sanima Bank Ltd. (SANIMA), which have posted net profit of Rs 1346.5 million and Rs 211.54 million respectively, both came down by Rs 3 and Rs 5 respectively as there was lack of buyers for these scrips in the market today.
Overall there were trades of 78 scrips among which 20 scrips increased 10 remained intact and 48 scrips decreased. The best performer for the day was, Bank of Kathmandu Promoter Share (BOKPO), closed at Rs 560, with Rs 337 or 151.12% gain. Among the scrips trading above par, Ace Development Bank Limited (ACEDBL), closed at Rs 118, was the top gainer with Rs 8 or 7.27% gain. Whereas, Prudential Insurance Co. (PICL), closed at Rs 150, was the worst performer with Rs 34 or 18.48% loss.
In case of the highest shares traded, National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), closed at Rs 77, topped with 104,705 units. Among the shares trading above par, Ace Development Bank Limited (ACEDBL) topped with 53,592 units.
In terms of highest turnover, Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), closed at Rs 1800, topped with 5,900 units worth Rs 10,625,372 via 5 transactions; in which Broker no 13 (Thrive Brokerage House Pvt. Limited) was the most active Broker with 94.63% stand alone dealing of SCB, tallying 5,586 units worth Rs 10,054,800 via 1 matching transactions.
Altogether there were trades of 372,773 units of shares via 913 transactions worth Rs 77,556,466; the market capitalization at the day stood at Rs 495,633.25 Millions.
