NEPSE FALL SHORT

Nepal Stock Exchange today fall short to add points after the plunge faced in the second hour of the trade. Though the benchmark index climbed up in the initial period, dive in the Banking scrips plummeted the local bars in the red zone. However, the increase in the NTC by Rs 3 in the last minutes did help to narrow the today loss to 0.02 points but failed to breach the yesterday’s level. The closing level of Nepse at the end of the today’s trade was at 514.47 levels.
Following the yesterday’s decline in Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited, the scrip bounced back as it added Rs 5 in its tally pushing the Others sector also up by 5.87 points. Similarly, the jump in the level of Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC) and Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) by Rs 5 and Rs 6 soar the Hydro sector by 1.09 points. Likewise, Hotels sector further pushed north by 4.91 points
While, Insurance also decreased by 0.4 points. Whereas, the triple digit plunge in Citizen Investment Trust of Rs 108 mainly dragged the sector down by 3.21 points. Likewise Development sector falls by 0.73 points following the drop in 10 scrips among the 29 traded under it today. As for Banking, despite the satisfactory second quarterly financial publication of commercial banks up to today, the investors seem quick to book their profit in these scrips as Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) dropped by Rs 15, Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL), Sanima Bank Ltd. (Sanima) and Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCCB) remained intact at their respective levels; the weak performance in these scrips overall cost Banking sector today as it slump by 1.71 points .
Overall there were 86 scrips traded among which 24 scrip increased, 24 remain intact and 38 scrip decreased. The highest gainer of the day was Oriental Hotel Ltd. (OHL), closed at Rs 149, with Rs 12 or 8.79%. Whereas, Union Finance Ltd., closed at Rs 98, today also was the highest loser with Rs 10 or 9.26%
In case of highest share traded, H & B Development Bank Ltd. (HBDL), closed at Rs 67, topped with 25,814 units.
In terms of highest turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1365, topped with 3,166 units worth Rs 4,341,731 via 24 transactions; in which Broker No 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt.Ltd) was the most active broker with 31.80% stand alone dealing of EBL, tallying 1,006 units worth Rs 1,380,580 via 2 matching transactions.
Altogether today 202,582 shares were traded via 998 transactions worth Rs 63,548,314 and the market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 495,623.65 Millions.
