NEPSE ENDS FY 2069/70 IN JOYFUL NOTE

The end of the fiscal year 2069/70 for the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) came to halt at a joyful note.

The timely announcement of the full budget, observed yesterday worth Rs 517 billion, along with the expectation of good returns in the upcoming fiscal year have set to build a constructive path for bullish mark in the coming days.

Such expectation and sentiment today kept the market floated over the bullish path for the entire session. The local bourse advanced by 7.2 points to close at 518.27 levels setting a record of 59 trading day’s high; last time Nepse reached this level was in 18th April, 2013.

The gain in Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 26 today also heavily contributed to market growth and in the 30.54 points surge of Others sector. Apart from it, the gain in Insurance and Hydro by 18.23 and 15.64 points respectively also attributed in the market advance.

Similarly, ascend in the levels of Banking, Development and Finance by 3.84, 0.91 and 0.07 points respectively also lend in hand in today’s market positive outlook.

Only Hotels sector failed to complement the market as it dropped by 5.74 points. While, Manufacturing remained intact at 868.72 levels.

All in all, the scrips of 96 companies were traded, out of which 49 scrips gained, 22 remained intact and 25 scrips lost. In the traded scrips, one of it was of Hama Merchant & Finance Ltd. (HAMA) which was resumed from today after the cancelation of the merger process with NDEP Development Bank Ltd. (NDEP).

The best performer for the day was, NIC Asia Bank Limited (NICA), closed at Rs 554, was the top gainer with Rs 50 or 9.92% gain. Whereas, Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (CBBL), closed at Rs 511, was the worst performer with Rs 45 or 8.09% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 10.06, topped with 10,623 units. In case of ordinary scrips, Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Ltd. (CTNBL), closed at Rs 140, topped with 9,750 units.

In terms of turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1591, topped with 5,281 units worth Rs 8,403,565 via  33 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of EBL was Broker No 36 (Secured Securities Pvt. Limited) with 18.86%; amounting Rs.  3,170,100 via 7 buying transactions totaling 1,999 units.

Overall 236,392 units of share were traded via 748 transactions worth Rs 49,141,521. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 514,492.13 Millions.
