NEPSE ENDS DOWNFALL WITH A GAIN OF 5.97 POINTS

The market finally overcame the selling pressure observed in last four trading days, to surge by 5.97 points. The benchmark index closed at 923.55 level.
Following the previous weeks’ superb rally, the investors and traders for past four trading days were in row of profit-booking which caused downfall in Nepse.
In addition to it, the nearing quarter end also triggered selling pressure which attributed to more than 20 points decline in past four trading days.
The market scenario in the initial period of today’s session was also similar as the traders and investors were continuing to offload their shares. However, improvement of demand in banking and most of other scrips in latter hours propelled the market index on to green terrain.
Among the seven sectors, only three sub-indices, Development, Hotels and Manufacturing suffered loss of 0.84 point, 8.98 points and 15.1 points respectively. While Insurance and Hydro led the gaining team with 48.84 points and 24.18 points incline respectively.
Similarly, Banking and Finance followed with increment of 6.1 points and 4.7 points respectively.
All in all, the scrips of 134 companies were traded, out of which 65 scrips gained, 13 remained intact and 56 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 682, with Rs 62 or 10 percent gain. Whereas, City Development Bank Limited (CDBL), closed at Rs 374, was the worst performer today with Rs 21 or 5.32 percent loss.
In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), closed at 2356, topped the category with turnover of Rs 52,430,878. Altogether, 22329 share units were traded through 144 transactions.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 47.68 percent totaling 21,355 shares trade amounting Rs 50,003,458 via 27 transactions, which include five matching transactions tallying 9,630 units worth Rs 22,534,341.
Similarly, the news of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 380, planning to sell two more of its primary non-banking assets at ward number 5 of Lalitpur -- a plot of 13 anas and another plot of one ropani, three ana, and 3 paisa --to inject capital in its system triggered massive demand.
Second to CHCL, NBL had the turnover of Rs 52,078,891. Altogether, 138,165 share units were traded through 184 transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 471,918,115, with total number of shares traded at 1,423,614 units which were traded through 3,507 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 942,240.20 Millions.
