Nepse Ends at Week’s HIGH

After a week of downfall in Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) level, the benchmark index today improved by 2.05 or 0.49% points. The market that traded below the opening level for an initial first hour, made a leap of more than one point in the beginning of the second hour. The improvement was mainly contributed by the NTC scrip as it gained Rs 10 today. With today’s gain the market index came to close at highest level for the week at 415.70.

 

The gain in the scrip of NTC helped to add 11.75 or 1.67% points in Others sector also. Other sector that aided in the Nepse growth were Banking, Trading and Insurance with 0.54 or 0.15%, 2.53 or 1.47% and 11.44 or 1.71% points incline respectively. Under Banking, the rise in the price of Nabil and SCB mainly contributed to its growth. Whereas in Trading, the increase in Bishal Bazar Co. Ltd. which is the only scrip traded under it, by Rs 30 aided its gain. As for Insurance, the two digit surge in the prices of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. , Life Insurance Co. Nepal, National Life Insu. Co. Ltd. and Sagarmatha Insurance Co. Ltd mainly helped the sector to be highest gainer among the sub-indices.

 

Today two of the Banking and Financial Institutions indices, Development and Finance dropped by 0.12 or 0.05% and 0.03 or 0.01% points respectively. The fall in Development came with a decrease in the price of Diyalo Bikas Bank Ltd. (DBBL), closed at Rs 107, by Rs 5 or 4.46%, highest lost among the traded shares today, along with Bishwa Bikas Bank Limited , Kailash Bikas Bank Ltd., Excel Development Bank Ltd. and other 9 scrips. As for Finance, the loss of 5 scrips offsets the gain of 7 scrips traded below it. The highest decliner among the sub-indices today was Hydro as it came down by 4.96 or 0.59% points. Among the three scrips traded below it, there were no gainers as Butwal remain intact whereas Arun Valley and CHCL came down by Rs 1 and Rs 8 respectively.

 

In case of the gainer and losers news for the day, among 94 scrips traded 41 scrips increased, 22 remain intact and 31 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Bageshowori Dev. Bank  (BBBLN), closed at Rs 150, with Rs 8 or 5.63%. In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Prime Life Insurance Company Limited, closed at Rs 304, topped with 68,392 units worth Rs 20,671,886.


The total turnover today was 77,368,572 which is comparatively Rs 4,151,340 or 5.09% lower than prior trading session. Overall 244,440 units of shares were traded via 1,389 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 393,386.3 Millions.
