NEPSE ENDS 2070 B.S. ON HAPPIER NOTE

Ending Nepali’s Year 2070 B.S. on happier note, the Nepse index today further added 6.29 points to its tally. With this, the benchmark index today came to settle at 817.65 level.
This year it was all the merrier for the secondary market of Nepal as the market index came to surge by 294.24 points or 56.21 percent. With the successful completion of the second Constituent Assembly election, the market remained upbeat for most of this year trading period.
In addition, the formation of pro market government attributed to further escalation in the market which propelled the market to five year high of 831.36 level on 23rd Feb, 2014.
As for today, most of the sub-indices settled in the green today. Insurance and Hydro continued with double digit incline as both added 46.17 points and 31.77 points respectively. Similarly, Others also followed the line with gain of 11.74 points.
Likewise, among the three banking and financial institutions sub-indices, Banking and Development soared by 4.28 points. and 2.7 points respectively while Finance suffered loss of 2.14 points followed by Hotels with plunge of 14.8 points.
Altogether there were trade of 126 scrips, among which 70 scrips gained, 6 scrips remained intact and 50 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd. (GSDBL), closed Rs 176, with a gain of Rs 16 or 10 percent. Whereas, Kaski Finance Limited (KAFIL), closed at Rs 164, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 9 or 5.2 percent.
Citizens Bank International Limited (CZBIL), which closed at Rs 434, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 324,872 units of CZBIL were traded through 81 transactions worth Rs 132,105,112.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CZBIL was Broker No 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt.Ltd) with 51.77 percent standalone dealing, totaling 336,562 units worth Rs 136,785,132 via 64 transactions, which include five matching transactions tallying 15,110 units worth Rs 6,145,960.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 445,547,288, with total number of shares traded at 1,336,269 units which were traded through 2,068 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 833,187.52 Millions.
