NEPSE DROPS FURTHER BY 5.18 POINTS; NBB MANUAL TRADING FOR COMPENSATION

Nepal Stock Exchange, the only secondary market of Nepal, today also witnessed bearish transition throughout the day. The Nepse came to plunge 5.18 points by the end of the day after starting from its previous day's closing levely. The benchmark after loss settled at 844.49 level.
Owing to the big drop in the Insurance and Banking scrips along with Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC), the market failed to bounce back today.
Among the 17 traded insurance scrips, 11 suffered loss today while only three made incline. Similarly, among 29 banking scrips, 15 suffered loss while only 11 made it to the green. In case of NTC, it dropped by Rs 9 which resulted into massive blow for the market, as it is one of the listed companies with highest capital.
Attributed by the high decline ratio in insurance sector, the sub-group suffered massive loss of 52.55 points while the Banking sector witnessed 4.39 points decline. Similarly, the plunge in NTC dragged the Others sector down by 10.57 points.
As for remaining sub-groups, Finance decreased by 1.93 points, Development increased by 3.15 points, Hotels made gain of 4.65 points and Hydro incremented by 10.77 points.
In addition to market movement, the market also observed separate transaction of 28,980 units of NBB worth Rs 18,981,900 through manual trading. The trading was executived so as to compensate the victims of Nirmal Pradhan and Shankar Kumar unlawfully selling of NBB shares.
Apart from it, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), which closed at Rs 663, also made huge transaction in the general trading floor. Altogether 56,616 units of NBB were traded through 154 transactions worth Rs 37,024,484 which is the highest among the traded scrips today.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NBB was Broker No 57 (Araya Tara Investment And Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 15.14 percent standalone dealing, totaling 8,575 units worth Rs 5,608,975 via 20 buying transactions.
Altogether there were trade of 130 scrips, among which 49 scrips gained, 20 scrips remained intact and 61 scrips suffered loss.
Karnali Development Bank Limited (KRBL), closed at Rs 122, was the top performer today with gain of Rs 11 or 9.91 percent whereas Rastriya Beema Sansthan (RBS), closed at Rs 135, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 500 or 8.93 percent.
The market turnover today stood at 384,508,346, with total number of shares traded at 1,583,282 units which were traded through 2,898 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 862,220.54 Millions.
