NEPSE DROPS FOR FIFTH STRAIGHT TRADING DAYS

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) dropped for the fifth straight trading days. The market index, which opened at 904.01 level, shed 6.57 points to close at 897.46 level.

Amid the current series of downfall in Nepse, more investors and traders flooded the market with selling pressure leading to yet another double digit plunge to 890 level. However, the latter improvement in Banking, Hydro and Others shares helped narrow the loss to single digit.

Among the mentioned three sectors, only Others landed on green terrain with gain of 2.35 points while Banking and Hydro suffered loss of 4.74 points and 22.95 points.

Similarly, Insurance made massive plunge of 66.59 points followed by Hotels, Development and Finance with 21.89 points, 5.96 points and 4.73 points decline respectively.

As for Manufacturing, it made a meager gain of 0.93 point.

The market turnover today slight improvement to Rs 206.46 million, compared to yesterday’s figure of Rs 186.05 million.
