NEPSE DROPS BY 2.67 POINTS

After a stationary movement of prior week, the Nepse index today came to drop by 2.67 points. The market index today closed at 808.45 level.
Following the offloading of insurance and hydro scrips, the benchmark index came to dwell on the red zone, which plummeted further after more profit booking was observed in banking, development and hotels scrips.
Insurance and Hydro sub-indices today suffered loss of 26.36 points and 22.62 points respectively. Similarly, Banking sector dropped by 2.17 points and Development decreased by 2.44 points. Likewise, Hotels declined by 9.23 points.
While, Finance and Others were the only sub-indices to settle on green today; Finance added 0.42 point and Others surged by 3.52 points.
Despite decline in most of the shares, the slight increase in investors’ participation was the positive aspect in today’s trading.
The turnover today came to stand at Rs 248.97 million up from Rs 236.23 million of last trading day. Likewise, the transaction figure came to increase to 1,945 times from that of 1,785 times. Similarly, the numbers of shares traded also increased to 575,210 units.
Altogether there were trade of 129 scrips, among which 52 scrips gained, 16 scrips remained intact and 61 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NNLB), closed Rs 841, with a gain of Rs 76 or 9.93 percent. Whereas, Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (CBBL), closed at Rs 867, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 46 or 5.04 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1915, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 16,372 units of CHCL were traded through 102 transactions worth Rs 31,400,603.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 49 (Online Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 31.52 percent standalone dealing, totaling 10,410 units worth Rs 19,794,190 via 9 transactions, which include two matching transactions tallying 4,952 units worth Rs 9,408,800.
