NEPSE DROPS BY 2.27 POINTS

The benchmark index today came to witness decline of 2.27 points following heavy drop in banking and Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited share price. By the end of the day, the local bourse came to close at 780.49 level.
Following the yesterday’s raise in the banking and NTC share price, investors today rush to liquidate their position, creating immense selling pressure throughout the day. As most of the banking scrips have already distributed dividends, the investors are quick to offload its share once they observe slight increment.
Banking today plunged by 4.29 points and Others tumbled by 7.05 points. Mostly traded share under Others sector, NTC, today dropped by Rs 6 to close at Rs 654. Along with them, Finance was another sector to experience downfall as it skid by 0.10 point.
While rest of the sub-indices landed in the green terrain. Insurance and Hydro continued with its upbeat performance as both added 14.74 points and 13.09 points respectively. Similarly, Hotels surged by 16.57 points.
Development and Manufacturing barely made to the green pasture as both made meager gain of 0.62 point and 0.06 point respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 123 scrips, among which 52 scrips gained, 26 scrips remained intact and 45 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Zenith Finance Limited (ZFL), closed Rs 165, with a gain of Rs 15 or 10 percent. Whereas, Shree Investment Finance Co. Ltd (SIFC), closed at Rs 432, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 48 or 10 percent.
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 4650, with turnover of Rs 34,242,875, totaling 7,430 units which were traded through 18 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLIC was Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) with 80.60 percent standalone dealing, totaling 12,000 units worth Rs 55,200,000 via five matching transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 229,590,261, with total number of shares traded at 401,987 units which were traded through 2,194 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 795,612.60 Millions.
