NEPSE DROPS BY 2.02 POINTS

The secondary market of Nepal today failed to continue on with its progress  as the stock index topple by 2.02 points by the end of the day, to close at 783.68 levels.

With the flood of selling pressure of Banking and Insurance shares, the market, which had witnessed near to two points incline in initial hour, tumbled in the latter hour to land on the red zone.

Following the weary displace of Banking and Insurance scrips in previous week, the investors are opting to liquidate the shares. In addition, as most banking scrips have declared and distributed the dividend for the fiscal year 2069/70, the investors seem reluctant to hold the shares.

Banking sub-indices today also suffered a loss of 5.01 points. Alongside it, Insurance dropped by 2.46 points.

Meanwhile, Hydro made a remarkable upward transition of 11.04 points. Following it, Hotels and Others also increased by 2.47 and 1.17 points respectively.

As for two remaining Banking and Financial sub-indices, Development and Finance both surged by 0.63 and 4.64 points respectively.

Altogether there were trade of 128 scrips, among which 68 scrips gained, 10 scrips remained intact and 50 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Union Finance Ltd. (UFCL), closed at Rs 110, with a gain of Rs 10 or 10 percent. Whereas, Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd. (GSDBL), closed at Rs 122, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 13 or 9.63 percent.
 
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Nepal Bangladesh Bank Promoter Share (NBBPO), closed at Rs 100, with Rs 719,550,000, totaling 2,767,500 units which were traded through one transaction.

The mammoth transactions of NBBPO today propelled the total market turnover beyond Rs one billion once again. The market turnover today stood at Rs 1,085,534,775 with total number of shares traded at 3,786,370 units which were traded through 2,626 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 797,171.5 Millions.

Among the ordinary shares, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), closed at Rs 607, had the highest turnover with trade worth Rs 35,684,861 totaling 58,996 units which were traded through 51 transactions.

The Broker with the highest transaction of AHPC was Broker No 45 (Imperial Securities Co. Pvt. Limited) with 58.62 percent standalone dealing, totaling 69,227 units worth Rs 41,841,587 via 23 transactions, which include three matching transactions worth Rs 13,300,000 totaling 22,000 units.
