NEPSE DROPS BY 0.88 POINT

Following four days of continuous rally, the only secondary market of Nepal today witnessed slight correction. The market index dropped 0.88 point to close at 860.60 level.
However, the scenario was different in the initial hour as the benchmark index at one point had suffered loss of more than three points. It was only in the last hour, following the improvement in banking and others scrips, the market index was able to make such hasty recovery.
Banking and Others sectors, which at one point suffered loss of more than three and five points respectively, came to settle on green with gain of 0.17 point and 5.87 point respectively. Similarly, Insurance was another sub-group to settle on green, the sub-index added 16.08 points to its tally.
While, Hydro made massive correction of 44.2 points followed by Hotels with 33.28 points descend. Likewise, Development, Finance and Manufacturing decreased by 2.08 point, 2.86 point and 0.31 point respectively.
All in all, the scrips of 140 companies were traded, out of which 52 scrips gained, 9 remained intact and 79 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day was, National LifeInsu. Co.Ltd. (NLICL), closed at Rs 2225, with Rs 193 or 9.50% gain. Whereas, the worst performer was, Seti Finance Limited (SETI), closed at Rs 160, with Rs 15 or 8.57% loss.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s trade was Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) which closed at Rs 2185. Altogether, 30,386 units of shares were traded through 244 transactions worth Rs 66,578,771.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 44 (Dynamic Money Managers Securities Pvt.Ltd) with 9.82 percent totaling 5,980 shares trade amounting Rs 13,079,648 via 20 transactions which includes one matching transaction totaling 1,539 units worth Rs 3,353,481.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 370,281,823, with total number of shares traded at 786,797 units which were traded through 2,869 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 877,839.51 Millions.
