Nepse drops by 0.35 point

ShareSansar, October 20th:

The benchmark index of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (Nepse) shed 0.35 point or 0.04 percent to close at 925.50 level today.

The selling pressure overwhelmed the market from the beginning of trade leading to bearish phase throughout the day.

Though the market index made numerous attempts to bounce back, the selling pressure in banking scrips, which covers around 80 percent of the market capitalization, proved to be game changer for the day.

The banking sector by the end of the day came to limit its loss to meager 0.04 point following last minute recovery. Similarly, Development and Finance, two of the remaining banking and financial institutions related sub-indices, decreased by 0.01 point and 5.58 points respectively.

Likewise, Hydro and Hotels also shed by 14.12 points and 5.26 points respectively.

While, Insurance and Others were the also sub-groups to add 1.14 points and 4.7 points respectively.

As for the market turnover, altogether 460,849 units share were traded through 2,061 transactions worth Rs 226.41 million.
