NEPSE DROPS BY 0.12 POINTS

Contradictory to its preceding trading day’s movement, the market index today stumble at the last minute to drop by 0.12 points.

Opposing the previous trading days’ trend, the local bourse commenced its trading from the green zone. Then continued to tussle in the upward and downward direction till the first hour, however, the improvement in Banking sector paved the market to make an upright leap to 544 levels.

But, coming to the last few remaining minutes, the market index made a full downward dive, complemented by the Others sector, to settle below yesterday’s closing at 541.88 levels.

Among the sub-indices, Hotels suffered the heavy loss of 27.77 points followed by Others with 4.7 points plummet, Finance with 1.36 points descend and Manufacturing with a 1.22 point drop.

While, Insurance made gains of 6.1 points alongside, 1.26 points incline of Hydro, 1.19 point jump of Banking and 0.55 points advance of Development.

All in all, 101 scrips were traded, out of which 40 scrips gained, 20 remained intact and 41 scrips lost.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Infrastructure Development Bank Limited (IDBL), closed at Rs 59, with Rs 4 or 7.27 percent growth whereas, among the shares trading above par, Ace Development Bank Limited (ACEDBL), closed at Rs 137, was the top gainer with Rs 6 or 4.58 percent.

While, Himalayan Bank Ltd. Promoter (HBLPO), closed at Rs 241, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 26 or 9.74 percent whereas, among the ordinary shares trading above par, United Finance Ltd (UFL), closed at Rs 144, was the top loser with loss of Rs 10 or 6.49 percent.

The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was of Himalayan Bank Limited Promoter (HBLPO), closed at Rs 241, with Rs 153,207,393 totaling 635,713 units which were carried out through 6 transactions.

Because of this chuck of transactions of HBLPO, the market turnover today surpassed Rs 250 million to stand at Rs 259,681,743. In the overall market, 1,030,403 unit shares were traded by 1,647 transactions.

As for the highest turnover among the ordinary shares, Nepal Credit And Com. Bank (NCC) , closed at Rs 275, topped with 33,232 units worth Rs 9,181,231 via 27 transactions .

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the NCC was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 83.33%; amounting Rs 15,302,230 via 10 transactions totaling  55,620 units which include 4 matching transactions  tallying 27,770 units worth Rs 7,639,830.
