NEPSE DROPS 5.54 POINTS

Following the heavy decline in the banking scrips, the market today tumbled by 5.54 points to close at 775.92 levels.
With the banking scrips witnessing a weary transition in recent weeks, most of the investors are cashing in their profit which was observed post election. Attributed by the falling price of banking scrips, the market sentiment diluted from the initial hour which came to impact on most of the sectors, as only two sub-indices landed in green while rest settled in red.
Banking came to suffer highest blow as it dropped by 9.37 points. Similarly, Insurance followed with decline of 7.7 points and Hotels with loss of 3.39 points.
Alongside above sectors, Others also plunged by 2.35 points and another BFI sub-index, Development, also decreased by 3.91 points.
While, Hydro made massive incline of 24.99 points followed by Finance with advance of 2.23 points.
Altogether there were trade of 120 scrips, among which 35 scrips gained, 16 scrips remained intact and 69 scrips suffered loss.
The best performers among the traded scrips were Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited (KEBL), closed at Rs 165, and Western Development Bank Limited (WDBL), closed at Rs 176, with a gain of 10 percent i.e. Rs 15 and Rs 16 respectively. Whereas, Sewa Bikas Bank Limited (SEWA), closed at Rs 217, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 24 or 9.96 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC), closed at Rs 3700, with Rs 35,089,470, totaling 9,488 units which were traded through 129 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NLIC was Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) with 53.99 percent standalone dealing, totaling 5,120 units worth Rs 18,944,000 via 6 matching transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 268,127,124 with total number of shares traded at 617,457 units which were traded through 2,661 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 789,669.98 Millions.
