NEPSE DROPS 4.82 POINTS

Buoyed by the profit booking sentiment, the market today dropped by 4.82 points. Following the decline, the secondary market came to close at 805.65 level.
After witnessing hefty surge in most of the traded scrips yesterday, the investors today took the opportunity to book their profit in banking scrips mostly. Though the dividend announcement of Laxmi Bank Ltd and Kumari Bank Ltd propelled the market sentiment in initial hour, later the market dropped owing to profit taking sentiment.
Laxmi Bank Ltd., which has proposed 15 percent bonus share and 25 percent right share, propelled by Rs 52 or 9.9 percent making it the highest gainer in today’s trade. However, Kumari Bank Ltd, which has proposed 14 percent, dropped by Rs 8 or 1.54 percent.
Meanwhile, Public Development Bank Limited (PDB), closed at Rs 104, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 10 or 8.77 percent.
Banking sub-index today plunged by 7.6 points. Similarly, Development also tumbled by 4.9 points. Likewise, Hydro declined by double digit figure of 17.02 points and Others decreased by 1.17 points.
While, Insurance continued with its surge as it added further 11.67 points to its tally. As for Hotels, it increased by 8.89 points and Finance soar by 2.41 points.
Altogether there were trade of 131 scrips, among which 36 scrips gained, 12 scrips remained intact and 83 scrips suffered loss.
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 325, with turnover of Rs 62,698,275, totaling 195,555 units which were traded through 28 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of NBL was Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) with 90.38 percent standalone dealing, totaling 354,170 units worth Rs 113,334,400 via three matching transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 355,347,705, with total number of shares traded at 1,313,454 units which were traded through 2,602 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 820,770.36 Millions.
