Nepse drops 4.67 points

KATHMANDU, March 28: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) dropped by 4.67 points to settle at 372 points on Sunday -- the first trading day of the week, with Banking -- the heavy weight trading group -- leading the losers´ pack.

During the day´s trading, Banking and Development Bank groups lost their sub-indices by 7.44 points and 0.15 points to close at 323.45 points and 329.7 points respectively.

Similarly, Insurance and Others groups also saw their sub-indices marginally go down by 0.07 points and 2.35 points to settle at 464.37 points and 538.12 points respectively.

However, Hydropower and Finance groups defied the slump in market, gaining 5.38 points and 0.06 points to close the day at 660.63 and 314.85 points respectively.

Total turnover of securities was recorded at Rs 15.43 million with 70,371 units of shares and 73 scrips changing hands through 1,454 transactions. Total market capitalization touched to Rs 329.23 billion on Sunday.
