NEPSE DROPS 0.05 POINT

Dangling its way back and forth over the yesterday’s closing, the Nepse index puts on a roller coaster performance today.

The market moved in a zigzag pattern between the range of 551 to near 553 levels. At the end of the day, the benchmark index barely failed to settle in green terrain, as it remained 0.05 points below the yesterday’s closing level. The local bourse today came to close at Rs 551.95 levels.

Among sub-indices, Insurance continued to rally as it made a gain of 46.43 points followed by Others with a 1.18 points incline, Hotels with 1.06 points growth and Finance with a 0.04 point increase.

While, Hydro today made a correction of 31.29 points after the hefty surge of yesterday. Alongside Hydro, Development and Banking also skid by 2.06 and 0.90 points respectively.

All in all, 112 scrips were traded, out of which 49 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 47 scrips lost.

The share with the highest gain in today’s session was, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (GLICL), closed at Rs 246, with Rs 22 or 9.82 percent growth. Whereas, Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (CBBL), closed at Rs 689, was the worst performer for the day with a loss of Rs 56 or 7.52 percent.

Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1700, had the highest turnover in the market today. Citing the company’s book closure for the 10 percent bonus share and 50 percent being tomorrow, the investors today actively brought the shares of the company to obtain the return.

Altogether, 18,247 units of shares were traded through 138 transactions worth Rs 31,021,974. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of EBL was Broker No 33 (Dachinkali Investment Securities Pvt. Ltd) with 12.20%; amounting Rs 7,568,319 via 32 transactions totaling  4,450 units which include 2 matching transactions tallying 346 units worth Rs 589,302.

Overall, 856,451 units of shares were traded by 2,364 transactions with total turnover worth Rs 189,272,165; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 554,005.39 million.
