NEPSE DROPPED BY MEAGER 0.33 POINT

Nepal Stock Exchange today also continued its downfall as it came down by meager 0.33 or 0.07% points to close at 492.83 levels. Though the market plummeted near to 490 levels, the incline in the scrips of Banking sector in the last hour mainly helped the benchmark index to narrow its loss. The market index that had breached the 500 level in the previous week , now for a few days has less strength in its movement. The main reason being the political confrontation between the head of states, with the President and Prime Minister altercation the investors are taking precautions to invest in the market.
But still the turnover amount in the market is satisfactory, today it stood over Rs 90 million. Likewise, share traded stood around 242,695 units and transaction around 1352 times. The market capitalization at the end of the market today has Rs 466,674.62 Millions.
In case of sub-indices today, Banking was the sole gainer with 1.12 points. The rise in the price level of Nepal SBI Bank Limited (SBI), Global IME Bank Limited (GLOBAL) and Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL ) by Rs 15, Rs 14 and Rs 14 respectively mainly contributed in sector growth. As for the remaining sub-indices, Finance and Development dropped by 1.13 and 0.31 points respectively. Under Development, Excel Development Bank Ltd (EDBL), closed at Rs 340, has decided to distribute 10% cash dividend and 30% bonus share to its shareholders after the approval from NRB and its upcoming AGM. This announcement helped the scrip to propel by Rs 25 or 7.94% making it the top gainer for today.
Similarly, Hydro, Insurance and Others plummeted by 4.09, 3.11 and 2.35 points respectively. Today all the three scrip traded under Hydro came down; AHPC, BPCL and CHCL fall by Rs 2, Rs 3 and Rs 6 respectively. Whereas loss in 7 scrips among the 10 scrips traded under Insurance mainly caused the drop in the sector’s index. As for the Hotels sector, it remains intact at 645.15 levels.
Overall there were 80 scrips traded among which 25 scrips increased, 12 remain intact and 43 scrips decreased. The highest loser of the day was Tourism Development Bank Ltd. (TDBL), closed at Rs 124, with Rs 10 or 7.46% loss. Whereas, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd (NBB), closed at Rs 241, had the highest share traded today tallying 34,568 units.
In case of highest turnover, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 822, topped with 18,537 units worth Rs 15,400,602 via 98 transactions; in which Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 30.66% stand alone dealing of NIB, tallying 5,704 units worth Rs 4,721,661 via 12 transactions which includes 3 matching transactions totaling 3,644 units worth Rs 3,010,800.
