NEPSE DROPPED 2.50 POINTS

The excitement brought by three days of continuous incline in Nepse came to a steady halt today as the local bourse dropped by 2.50 points to close at 495.54 levels. The local bourse showed no sign of firmness today as the benchmark from start to end continued with the sluggish performance.

The Banking and Other sub-indices that have been the backbone in the recent surge of Nepse today failed to progress in the same manner as Banking lost 4.63 points while Others remained intact at 622.7 levels. In Banking, following the news of Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) going for merger progress, likely with IFLC, attributed into a heavy loss for the scrip today as it sheds by Rs 35 to close at 545.

The BOK has called on a special general meeting on 21st July for the approval of the merger and also for the election of BODs.

However, International Leasing And Fin. Co. (ILFC), closed at Rs 150, on the other end made a hefty gain of Rs 13 as the investors see a win-win scenario for the shareholders of the company, if it to merge with BOK.

Though the ILFC came out a winner today, Development sector declined by 0.27 points followed by Insurance with a huge plunge of 7.29 points. Whereas, Hydro sector today made an immense surge of 8.8 points alongside Finance with 2.09 point gain. As for Manufacturing, it remained intact at 878.17 levels.

Overall, the scrips of 88 companies were traded, out of which 31 scrips gained, 13 remained intact and 44 scrips lost.

The best performer for the day was, Zenith Finance Limited  (ZFL), closed at Rs 100, with Rs 9 or 9.89% gain. Whereas, Swarojgar Laghu Bitta Bikas Bank Ltd. (SLBBL), closed at Rs 200 , was the worst performer among the ordinary scrips with Rs 22 or 9.91% loss.

In case of the highest shares traded among mutual fund, Nabil Balance Fund 1 (NBF1), closed at Rs 9.98, topped with 168,313 units. In case of ordinary scrips, International Leasing And Fin. Co. (ILFC) topped with 56,748 units.

 In terms of turnover, ICFC Finance Ltd. Promoter Share (ICFCPO), closed at Rs 105, topped with 159,732 units worth Rs 16,774,360 via 6 transactions.

Among the ordinary scrips, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL) topped with 7,915 units worth Rs 12,120,298 via 51 transactions. The broker with the highest standalone dealing of EBL was Broker No 8 (Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities Pvt. Limited) with 34.21%; amounting Rs. 8,292,285 via 39 transactions totaling 5,415 units which includes 1 matching transaction tallying 30 units worth Rs 45,900.

Overall,  648,177 units of shares were traded via 1,217 transactions worth Rs 100,795,761.The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 491,005.07 Millions.
