NEPSE DROP BY 2.49 POINTS

Today also Nepal Stock Exchange continued its yesterday’s trend as the local bourse made correction by 2.49 points. Following the slight increment in the initial few minutes of trade, the benchmark index gradually started to decline and continued its way all the way down to 527 levels but in the last minutes of trade today again the market index gained upward to close at 529.28 levels.
Other sector came down by the most points today as it suffered 8.22 points; the decrease in the scrip of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 3 mainly dragged the sector today. Similarly, the fall in Standard Chartered Bank Ltd. (SCB), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL), Lumbini Bank Ltd. (LBL), Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL)by more than Rs 10 mainly pulled the Banking sector down by 5.04 points. Among the 27 scrips traded under Banking, only three scrips increased among which one was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL); the scrip gained Rs 113 or 9.93% which was the highest amongst the shares traded today.
Likewise, Hotels and Development plummeted by 0.56 and 0.31 points respectively. While, Manufacturing sector surge by 15.83 points as the jump in the price of Uniliver Nepal Ltd. (UNL) by Rs 415 mainly helped in the sector’s growth. Whereas, the rise in the price of Citizen Investment Trust (CIT )by Rs 126 propelled the Finance sector by 3.09 points. As for Hydro and Insurance both also soar by 2.74 and 5.65 points; the increase in Insurance was mainly because of the jump in the levels of Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd. (SICL) and Sagarmatha Insurance Co.Ltd (SICL) by more than Rs 30.
Overall there were 81 scrip traded among which 25 scrip increased, 11 remain intact and 45 scrip decreased. The highest gainer of the day also was Nepal Bank Ltd (NBL), closed at Rs 1138, with Rs 103 or 9.95% gain. Whereas, Machhachapuchhre Bank Ltd (MBL),closed at Rs 226, was the highest loser with Rs 13 or 5.44%.
In case of highest share traded, Bank of Kathmandu (BOK), closed at Rs 702, topped with 21,962 units. In terms of highest turnover, Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), closed at Rs 1370, topped with 12,992 units worth Rs 17,838,871 via 55 transactions.
Altogether today 214,293 shares were traded via 1,252 transactions worth Rs 110,275,612 which is Rs 13,283,957 or 13.70% higher than yesterday's trade.
