NEPSE Down 23.95 Points at 2,544.30, Twelve of Thirteen Sector Indices Close Red

The NEPSE index closed at 2,544.30 today after losing 23.95 points from last trading day's closing. The index had gained 40.68 points yesterday.

The index opened at 2,568.76 today and made the intraday high at 2,584.22. However, it couldn't sustain the rise, and the index kept losing from there. While it went as low as 2,538.78, it ultimately closed at 2,544.30.

228 scrips traded hands via 37,429 transactions. Furthermore, a total of 3,787,045 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 1.89 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 2.25 Arba.

Emerging Nepal Limited (ENL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 9.23 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 1,224.80 per share. ENL is also the highest-gainer with a 10% gain.

Meanwhile, the shares of Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. (EIC) were traded the most.

A total of three scrips technically gained 10% and hit the positive circuit breaker for the day.

On the other side of things, Narayani Development Bank Limited (NABBC) lost the highest 4.79%.

Among the thirteen sector indices, only "Trading" gained a minimal 0.71%. Among all other sector indices that closed red, "Finance" lost the highest 2.76%.
