NEPSE discontinues margin trading/lending of brokers that haven't renewed the service

NEPSE has published a list of broker companies that have renewed their margin trading/lending services. The same notice also has the list of broker companies that have not renewed their services. For such companies, the margin trading facility is discontinued automatically.

In accordance with Nepal Rastra Bank's provision, broker companies can also provide margin loans to their clients to invest in securities in NEPSE. Thus, if an investor wishes to trade on margin, the broker company will contribute a certain percentage of the monetary amount of shares. The bought shares are themselves considered collateral. Needless to say, broker companies charge a pre-specified interest rate on the amount lent to its investor clients.
