NEPSE DIPS BY 4.46 POINTS

The selling pressure continued to derail the secondary market of Nepal for second consecutive day of this week. The Nepse index today tumbled by 4.46 points and closed at 814.16 level.
In spite the valiant effort to bounce in the early phase of today’s session, the selling pressure in banking and others scrips proved to be game changer in today’s session.
For the first one and half hour, the market was hovering above the yesterday’s closing; however, the plunge in above mentioned scrips brought down the market index like house of cards, to today’s closing level.
Banking and Others sub-indices, which are the heavy weights of the market, plunged by 5.79 points and 4.7 points respectively. Similarly, Hydro also suffered loss of 8.74 points. Likewise, Hotels which is one of the smallest sub-index in terms of weightage, came down by 100.04 points.
While, Insurance continued to remain upbeat as it added further 26.1 points. Along with it, Development and Finance were other two sectors to increase by 0.87 point and 1.41 points respectively. As for Manufacturing, it remained intact at 1072.75 level.
Altogether there were trade of 133 scrips, among which 56 scrips gained, 11 scrips remained intact and 66 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded shares was Shree Investment Finance Co. Ltd (SIFC), closed Rs 489, with a gain of Rs 44 or 9.89 percent. Whereas, Nepal Community Development Bank (NCDB), closed at Rs 133, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 14 or 9.52 percent.
Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL), which closed at Rs 1885, had the highest turnover among the traded scrips today. Overall, 14963 units of CHCL were traded through 121 transactions worth Rs 28,226,224.
The Broker with the highest transaction of CHCL was Broker No 29 (Trishul Securities And Investment Limited) with 9.73 percent standalone dealing. Altogether, 2917 units of shares were traded through eight transactions worth Rs 5,498,169.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 312,148,768, with total number of shares traded at 633,984 units which were traded through 2,289 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 829,742.81 Millions.
