NEPSE DIPS BY 1.94 POINTS; NBL CONTINUES TO TRADE IN HIGH NUMBERS

Today the market witness more profit booking from the investors, diluting the stock index down by 1.94 points in the process. With today’s downfall, the benchmark index came to settle at 647.18 levels.

Observing the yesterday’s stagnant movement in the market, the investors today were found liquidating most of those scrips which witnessed a heavy surge after election. Many of these scrips were of banking and hydro sectors, along with those scrips the fall in price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited also complemented in today's downward direction.

Coming to the end of the day, Banking , Hydro and Others came to drop by 5.29, 2.53 and 3.52 points respectively. Besides these three sectors, Finance also declined by 0.44 points.

While, Hotels today overcoming its yesterday’s fall propelled by a huge 64.86 points, Similarly, Insurance continued with its rally as today also it advanced by 23 points. Likewise, Development also added 1.25 points to its tally.

Altogether there were trade of 102 scrips, among which 50 scrips gained,  12 scrips remained intact and 40 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Muktinath Bikas Bank Ltd. (MNBBL), closed at Rs 386, with a gain of Rs 35 or 9.97 percent whereas the worst performer was  International Leasing And Fin. Co. (ILFC), closed at Rs 158, with loss of Rs 12 or 7.06 percent.

Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 255, today also had the highest turnover.  In total, 103,005 unit shares were traded through 101 transactions, amounting Rs 25,951,589 in today’s session. This is the fourth consecutive day that the NBL maintained highest turnover in the market.

Thought the NBL net worth is far less than its par value and holds a negative reserve and surplus amount, the investors are still attractive towards this scrip. As the company holds the lucrative properties throughout the nation, the investors are optimistic that the bank will come to maintain higher net worth and sustain healthy growth by selling these high value properties in days to come.

The  Broker with the highest transaction of NBL was Broker no 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 36.13% standalone dealing of the NBL, tallying 75,008 units worth Rs 18,748,841 via 14 transactions which includes 1matching transaction totaling 25,645 units worth Rs 6,411,250.

Meanwhile, the total turnover of the market today decreased to Rs 264,227,834 which was carried out through 2,152 transactions totaling 795,974 units. The market capitalization at the end stood at Rs 656,599.12 Millions.
