NEPSE DIPS BY 1.26 POINTS

The market today floated below the yesterday’s closing level for the entire day, suffering a loss of 1.26 points by end of the day.

Following the correction from the level of 551.6 level, the Nepse zigzagged its way between the range of 551 levels to 549.5 levels for the rest of the day before coming to close at 550.29 levels.

The opening transaction of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) Rs 3 below for the yesterday’s closing of Rs 583, swept the market in the declining path. Then, the profit booking in the Chilime Hydro power Co. (CHCL) and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd.(NBB) further skid the market in red zone, drowning  the Nepse index in progress.

Similarly, Hydro also tumbled by 16.85  points followed by Others with  9.4 points decline and Banking with 0.34 points fall. Likewise, Hotels and Development were other two sectors with descend of 4 and 1.6 points respectively.

Only, Insurance and Finance were able to make gain of 21.55 and 2.03 points respectively.

All in all, the scrips of 113 companies were traded, out of which 45 scrips gained, 16 remained intact and 52 scrips lost.

The best performers for the day was, Life Insurance Co. Nepal (LICN), closed at Rs 1485, with Rs 135 or 10% gain. Whereas, Gaurishankar Development Bank Ltd.  (GSDBL), closed at Rs 95, was the top loser with Rs 10 or 8.52% loss.

While, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd.(NBB), closed at Rs 373, still continued its charm as it today also topped in all fronts of transaction, turnover and shares traded categories. Today, altogether 83,577  units of NBB’s shares were traded via 223 transactions worth Rs 31,396,891.

The broker with the highest standalone dealing of the CHCL was Broker No 8 (Ashutosh Brokerage & Securities Pvt. Limited) with 8.94%; amounting Rs 5,618,220 via 38 transactions totaling  14,961 units which includes 3 matching transactions tallying  1118 units worth Rs 417445.

Overall, 527,429 units of share were traded by 1,777 transactions worth Rs 176,192,930; the market capitalization by the end of the day tallied to Rs 548,369.22 million.
