NEPSE DECLINES BY 5.58 POINTS

Continuing its downtrend the benchmark index tumbled by further 5.58 points today. Fourth consecutive days of bearish movement has plunged the NEPSE index by more than two percent. With today’s fall the local bourse came to settle at 787.99 level which is one month lowest level.
The offload of the dividend distributed companies in the market is creating immense selling pressure in the market which has led to downfall in recent days. In addition, the consecutive bearish movement in market has further compelled the investors to book their profit to avoid decrease in their earnings.
Most of the profit booking in today’s trade was observed in insurance and hydro scrips. Insurance today came down by 37.4 points and Hydro suffered a loss of 16.74 points. Similarly, Hotels was another sub-index to tumble by double digit figure tallying 28.83 points.
As for banking and financial institutions sub-indices, Banking skid by 6.75 points, Development decreased by 4.44 points and Finance descended by 1.04 points. While, Others was the one sector to maintain growth in today’s trade, the sub-index inclined by 5.87 points.
Altogether there were trade of 120 scrips, among which 33 scrips gained, 14 scrips remained intact and 73 scrips suffered loss.
The best performer among the traded scrips was Sindhu Bikas Bank Limited (SINDU), closed at Rs 159, with a gain of Rs 11 or 7.43 percent. Whereas, Diprox Development Bank (DDBL), closed at Rs 906, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 74 or 7.55 percent.
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Laxmi Bank Limited (LBL), closed at Rs 573, with turnover of Rs 22,191,517, totaling 38,659 units which were traded through 122 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of LBL was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 12.33 percent standalone dealing, totaling 9,550 units worth Rs 5,476,600 via 21 transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 264,437,488, with total number of shares traded at 812,688 units which were traded through 2,449 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 802,777.57 Millions.
