NEPSE DECLINES BY 1.78 POINTS

After consecutive three days of rally, the stock market of Nepal today came to witness a correction of 1.78 points. The NEPSE coming to the end of the day closed at 784 levels.
Despite the incline in most of the sectors’ shares, the fall in the price of the banking shares proved to be decisive factor in today’s market transition.
With the banking scrips experiencing boost in the last three trading days, a higher amount of selling pressure was observed in this shares as investors were keen to book their profit.
The Banking sector, which was the only sub-index to suffer loss today, declined by 7 points.
Meanwhile, Hotels increased by a massive 88.85 points and Insurance followed by 16.18 points. Similarly, Hydro and Others also recorded a surge of 3.83 and 3.53 points respectively.
As for the two of the remaining BFIs sectors, Development and Finance, both increased by 0.34 and 1.25 points respectively.
Altogether there were trade of 129 scrips, among which 53 scrips gained, 11 scrips remained intact and 65 scrips suffered loss.
The best performers among the traded scrips were Nepal Aawas Finance Limited (NABB), closed at Rs 176, and Soaltee Hotel Ltd. (SHL), closed at Rs 374, with a gain of 10 percent i.e. Rs 16 and Rs34 respectively. Whereas, Professional Diyalo Bikas Bank Ltd. (PRDBL), closed at Rs 124, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 11 or 8.15 percent.
The scrip with the highest turnover in today’s market was Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited (AHPC), closed at Rs 695, with Rs 32,404,123, totaling 46,645 units which were traded through 149 transactions.
The Broker with the highest transaction of AHPC was Broker No 45 (Imperial Securities Co. Pvt. Limited) with 11.92 percent standalone dealing, totaling 11,162 units worth Rs 7,726,779 via 24 transactions; which includes one matching transaction of 1000 units worth Rs 692,000.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 249,552,374 with total number of shares traded at 719,365 units which were traded through 2,813 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 798,176.19 Millions.
