Nepse decline despite high turnover

Today the market saw huge surge in turnover as the amount rose by 50 percent. Despite the jump in the turnover, the local bourse couldn’t continue its rallying streak today as the market index declined by 1.44 points. With the news of consensus going on between major three parties of the country regarding the Constituent Assembly revival, it seemed that the market would break this fiscal year high level record of 408.35 level set on 23rd July, 2012 today. But it was not the case which indicates that the investors are not fully buying the political parties commitment towards resolving the current political deadlock of the country. In overall, the market went down by 0.35% to close at 405.63%.
The down fall in the Nepse came with the fall in the level of Trading, Banking, Others, Development and Finance by 5.17%, 0.72%, 0.68%, 0.15% and 0.04% respectively. The decrease in the Trading sector was mainly due to decrease in scrip of Bishal Bazar Co. Ltd. by Rs 105. Whereas, the drop in the scrip of ADBL, BOK, SCB, EBL and SBI resulted in Banking loss. It seems that the decline in BOK by Rs 26 today, despite the proposal of 5% share dividend and 21.32% cash dividend indicates that the investors were expecting more from this Bank.
On the other hand, Hotels, Insurance and Hydro added 2.21%, 0.52% and 0.08% respectively. The main contributor to Hotels sector increment was Soaltee hotel, the scrip added Rs 8 to its tally. Whereas in Hydro, apart from CHCL all other remaining scrip under Hydro added today.Among other Sub-indices in Nepse, Sensitive index dropped by 0.40 or 0.37% points to rest at 104.63 level while Float index also lost 0.134 or 0.44% to close at 30.51level.
Today among the traded shares, Neco Insurance Co. (NIL), closed at Rs 121, was the Top Gainer with Rs 11 or 10% for second time in row. Likewise, Triveni Bikash Bank Ltd. (TBBL), closed at Rs 160, was the Top Loser with Rs 17 or 9.60%.
In case of highest transaction, Guras Life Insurance Co. Ltd., closed at Rs 132, topped the list with the number of 143 transactions. Similarly in highest share traded, H & B Development Bank Ltd., closed at Rs 99, ace the category with 51,239 units.
Whereas, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1,097, today also had the highest turnover. Overall, 9,198 units worth Rs 10,034,738 via 76 transactions were done of EBL; in which Broker no 44 (Dynamic Money Managers Securities Pvt. Ltd) was the most active broker with 24.39% stand alone dealing of EBL , totaling 2240 units worth Rs 2,447,780 via16 transactions.
Total scrips traded for the day was 94 with 40 gainers and 38 losers with total turnover of Rs 70,034,870 which is comparatively Rs 23,418,928 or 50.23% higher than prior trading session. Overall 271,211 units of shares were traded via 1,423 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 384,029.94 Millions.
