NEPSE DECLINE BY 2.51 POINTS

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) today declined by 2.51 points to close at 494.85 level. From the beginning of the trade the secondary market was in downfall, the market index reached to the lowest point 492 level today but in the later hours gradually inclined to narrow the gap between yesterday’s closing. Though the market index is currently in sideways movement, the recent political confrontation between the President and Prime Minister has weakened the investors’ confidence regarding the market movement in the future days to come.
In spite of such confrontation, the market analyst predicts that the opening of Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme -I from 29th November will help to bring a new prospect in the market movement in the upcoming days.
Among the sub-indices today, apart from Finance sector jump of 1.07 points all other remaining sector indices took a hammer. The most points fall in the Hotels sector as it came down by 12.21 points. Likewise Hydro followed with 11.38 points loss, the downfall was mainly because of the drop in the price of Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) and Chilime Hydro Power Co. Ltd. (CHCL) by Rs 12 and Rs 11 respectively.
Similarly, the decline in Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 104 let to the drop in Insurance sector by 11.2 points. As for Banking, Development and Other sectors, all came down by 2.1, 1.34 and 3.52 points respectively. Under Banking today, the scrips of SCB, NABIL, HBL and BOK all plummeted by double digit.
Overall there were 90 scrips traded among which 28 scrips increased, 12 remain intact and 50 scrips decreased. The highest loser for the day was Yeti Finance Ltd. (YFL), closed at Rs 161, with Rs 15 or 8.52%. Whereas, International Leasing and Fin. Co. (ILFC), closed at Rs 113, was the top gainer with Rs 9 or 8.65%.
In case of highest share traded, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB) topped with 39,311 units. While, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 797, had the highest turnover with 26,128 units worth Rs 20,298,061 via 120 transactions; in which Broker No 56 (Shree Hari Securities Pvt.Ltd) was the most active broker with 17.94% stand alone dealing of NIB, tallying 4,689 units worth Rs 3,642,551 via 16 transactions which includes one matching transactions of 1,845 units worth Rs 1,389,285.
Overall 262,232 units of shares were traded worth Rs 91,791,517 via 1302 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 468,584.50 Millions.
