Nepse decline by 0.04 point despite High Turnover
After the surge of 6 points yesterday, today Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) slump by meager 0.04 point. The market which opened around 412 level, lost 2 points in the first 15 minutes then started to gradually incline to the level of 412 level again as trade volume started to increase in the following hours. Despite the jump in turnover amount than yesterday, the market index was trading below the opening level for most part of trading. In the final hour the benchmark index surge to 414 level but couldn’t sustain as the fall in the Banking and Other sectors drag down to 411.82 level.
In overall 94 scrips traded today, 43 scrips gained whereas 14 scrips remain in tacit and 37 scrips suffered loss. The highest gainer among the stock traded today was First Microfinance Development Bank Ltd.
(FMDBL), closed at Rs 165, with Rs 15 or 10% gain. Whereas, Hama Merchant and Finance Ltd. (HAMA), closed at Rs 80, was the Top Loser today also with Rs 8 or 9.09%. With todays lost the scrip has come down by Rs 152 since 15th July, 2012.
Among other news,2 millions Kitta shares of Nepal Consumer Development Bank Ltd. was listed for trading with Stock Symbol NCDBL today in Nepse. Likewise, the news of Muktinath Bikash Bank Ltd (MBBL) BOD’s proposal of 27.5% of Cash dividend and 22.5% of Bonus Share to its Share Holders which is to be approved by NRB and Its AGM, helped to push the scrip up. Overall, the scrip gained Rs 3 to close at Rs 325 with highest transaction of 128 units and highest share traded among the general shares i.e. 13,090 units. Whereas Kumari Bank Limited Promoter Share, closed at Rs147, had the highest share traded with 40,000 units.
In case of turnover, Everest Bank Limited (EBL), closed at Rs 1,110 , today also had the highest turnover. Overall, 8,841 units worth Rs 9,836,122 via 80 transactions were done of EBL; in which Broker no 32 (Premier Securities Company Limited ) was the most active broker with 21% stand alone dealing of EBL , totaling 1,858 units worth Rs 2,066,164 via 18 transactions in which 2 were matching transaction of 120 units worth Rs 133,520.
Today among the sub-indices, Insurance, Others and Banking came down by 0.38%, 0.17% and 0.05% points respectively .Whereas, Hotels, Development, Hydro and Finance added 1.3%, 0.26%, 0.22% and 0.07% respectively. Similarly, Sub-indices in Nepse, Sensitive index increased by 0.56 or 0.53% points to rest at 106.92 level while Float index also lost 0.005 or 0.02% to close at 30.94 level.
The total turnover today was 75,919,642 which is comparatively Rs 18,337,215.00 or 31.84% higher than prior trading session. Overall 264,708 units of shares were traded via 1,689 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 389,712.48 Millions.
