NEPSE DECLINE

Today Nepal Stock Exchange decline by 9.66 points to close at 488.01 levels. From the beginning of the trade the benchmark index was all in red; with the political uncertainty in the country, the investors are once again are booking their profit resulting in heavy drag in the local bourse.
Among the sub-indices, Hydro dropped the most as it came down by 21.47 points. The decline came with the plummet in the price level of all the three scrips traded under it. Similarly, the descent in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 13 dragged the Others sector by 17.62 points. Likewise, Hotels sector also decreased by 0.75 points.
In Banking and Financial sub-indices, Banking, Development and Finance all came down by 11.19, 0.74 and 0.64 points respectively. The hefty drop in the Banking was mainly due to the fall in the price of 24 scrips among the 25 scrips traded under it. Under it, NABIL, SCB, EBL, HBL, NSBI, NIB and BOK were the heavy decliners with Rs 48, Rs 35, Rs 30, Rs 29, Rs 26, Rs 21 and Rs 20 loss respectively. As for Insurance, it also declined by 6.71 points as the fall in the price of Nepal Life Insurance Co. Ltd. (NLIC) by Rs 64 mainly contributed in sectors descend.
Overall there were 84 scrips traded among which 13 scrips increased, 9 remain intact and 62 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Subhechha Bikas Bank Limited (SUBBL), closed at Rs 126, with Rs 10 or 8.62%. Whereas, Shrijana Finance(Bittiya Sa), closed at Rs 153, was the top loser with Rs 12 or 7.27% loss and also this scrip had the highest share trade of 23,796 units today.
In terms of highest turnover, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), closed at Rs 826, topped with 7,569 units worth Rs 6,243,380 via 34 transactions.Overall 215,682 units of shares were traded worth Rs 69,196,026 via 948 transactions.
