The NEPSE index closed today at 1,575.18 after gaining a minimal 3 points (0.19%) from last week's close.

Overall 31.04 points volatility was witnessed in the market hours today, with the highest point being 1,605.12 and the lowest being 1,574.08. Thus, NEPSE crossed the 1,600 level after long today. The last time the stock was over 1,600 was on February 27, when the peak formed and fell, ultimately creating a bubble. However, the market closed near the intraday-low today.

Rs. 2.74 Arba turnover is gained through 64,515 transactions of 9,223,712 shares. This is the highest number of transactions seen in a single day in NEPSE's history.

The float index gained 0.47 points and closed at 109.29 while the Sensitive index is at 313.62 after gaining 1.12 points.

Reliance Life Insurance Limited (RLI) had the highest turnover of Rs. 19.47 crores. The shares of the Civil Bank Limited (CBL) traded the most. The news that (CBL) has sent an application to Himalayan Bank requesting for acquisition seems to have circulated in the market. The increase in shares traded is likely the result of that.

As a result, CBL's stock also gained aggressively today. The price opened at a gap up from yesterday's close. It is clear that this news has affected the stock price. Thus, NEPSE has issued a notice a few moments ago asking CBL to clarify on the matter.

A total of 6 companies hit a 10% positive circuit today (technically).

Meanwhile, Himal Dolakha Hydropower Company Limited (HDHPC) and Liberty Energy Company (LEC) lost the most 10%. Interestingly, LEC had opened 10% higher than the upper limit for the first transaction. However, the stock ultimately hit a 10% negative circuit and closed 30 points lower at Rs. 270 per unit.

Three sectors gained and all other ended red. Finance gained the most 3.95% and Hotels lost the most 5.13%.

Many investors believe that NEPSE might reach a new all-time high if the banking sector goes bullish like other sectors. What is your opinion on this?
