NEPSE Couldn't Pick up on Yesterday's Gain; Index Loses 44.18 Points and Closes at 2,936.60

The NEPSE index closed at 2,936.60 today after losing 44.18 points from yesterday's closing. The index had gained an impressive 161.94 points yesterday. This was the first triple-digit intraday gain in the history of NEPSE.

The index opened at 2,999.62 and created the intraday high at 3,001.10. While it went as low as 2,913.01, it ultimately closed at 2,936.60.

A total of 15,082,081 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 7.495 Arba in the turnover amount. This is lower than yesterday's turnover of Rs. 9.826 Arba. 222 scrips traded hands via 86,508 transactions.

United Modi Hydropower Limited (UMHL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 61.92 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 607 per share. Its shares also traded the most.

Sanima Life Insurance Company Limited (SLI) is the only company to have hit the positive 10% circuit today. On the other side of things, RMDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (RMDC) lost the most 7.73%.

Two sectors gained while all others closed red. Hotels And Tourism lost the most 2.99% and the "Others" sector gained the most 1.01%.
