NEPSE CONTIUES TO FALL

Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) today also continued its downfall as the market came down by 6.07 points to close at 482.91 level. For the entire day, the local bourse struggle to make an upward movement as it stayed in the red zone for the entire session. With most of the investors diverting their investment in Siddhartha Investment Growth Scheme –I and waiting for the Civil Bank Ltd. IPO share, the market seems to have taken a toll and is expected to remain somewhat sluggish for a few more days to come.
The most of the sub-indices also were in the red pasture; the Hydro sector plummeted by the most points today as its level fall by 23.04 points. Among the three scrips traded under it, Butwal Power Co. Ltd. (BPCL) , closed at Rs 733, was the top loser today as it came down by hefty amounts of Rs 48 or 6.15% despite the company’s BOD proposal to distribute 25% cash dividend to its shareholders, which was far less than what was expected from the investors. As for Chilime Hydro Power Ltd. (CHCL) it remains intact at Rs 1118 and Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Limited ( AHPC) by Rs 5 . Similarly, the fall in the price of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) by Rs 2 let the Others sector fell down by 8.23 points.
Likewise, Banking, Development and Hotels sector also descended by 7.44, 1.41 and 8.14 points respectively. In Development, Clean Energy Development Bank Ltd. (CEDBL), closed at Rs 173, has decided to distribute 10% cash dividend after approval from NRB and its upcoming AGM. In spite of the news, the scrip price level came down by Rs 5 today.
Under Banking , Kumari Bank Ltd. (KBL), closed at Rs 251, has decided to only distribute 7% cash dividend to its shareholders, despite the news the scrip came down by Rs 15. Similarly Everest Bank Ltd (EBL), Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. (NIB), Himalayan Bank Ltd. (HBL), Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBI), Kumari Bank Ltd (KBL), Nabil Bank Ltd. (NABIL) and Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) all came down by more than Rs 10 today. As for other news related to the banking sector, the agreement between NEPSE and Nepal Bank Ltd. to enlist 3,803,826 numbers of shares for trading purpose was done today. The trading of these shares would start after 7 days from today.
As for the remaining three sub-indices, Manufacturing sector remain intact at 728.96 level whereas Finance and Insurance surge by 0.14 and 3.41 points respectively. Under Finance, International Leasing and Fin. Co. Ltd. (ILFC) has decided to distribute 6.70% cash dividend after approval from NRB and its upcoming AGM despite the news the scrip price remains intact at Rs 106.
Overall there were 66 scrips traded among which 9 scrips increased, 10 remain intact and only 47 scrips decreased. The highest gainer for the day was Janaki Finance Ltd (JFL), closed at Rs 395, with Rs 14 or 93.67%.
In terms of highest share traded and turnover, Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd. (NBB), closed at Rs 227, topped with 55,820 units worth Rs 12,590,680 via 71 transactions; in which Broker No 20 (Sipla Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 36.37% stand alone dealing of NBB, tallying 20,225 units worth Rs 4,579,625 via 9 transactions which includes 3 matching transactions totaling 12,000 units worth Rs 2724000.
The total turnover today was Rs 82,460,570 which is comparatively Rs 11,532,887 or 16.26% higher than prior trading session. Overall 224,379 units of shares were traded via 1,018 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 458,129.44 Millions.
