NEPSE CONTINUES TO RISE

Despite witnessing more than six points correction in the initial hours, the Nepse index made its way up in the last hour to gain 6.97 points. The market index today closed at 1023.47 level.
Following the news of possible tightening of margin lending from the upcoming monetary policy by NRB, the investors and traders took caution by making series of profit-booking in the recent gainers. Consequently, the benchmark index came below the 1010 level in the initial hour.
However, in the ending hour, the surge in demand of banking and financial institutions’ scrips was once again witnessed. In addition, the rise in demand of NTC in latter hours also helped propel the stock index beyond yesterday’s level.
Banking , Development and Finance by the end of the day sustained gain of 9.08 points, 5.82 points and 2.74 points respectively. Similarly, Others also added 14.1 points to its tally.
Whereas, profit taking in insurance and hydro scrips continued to drag the related sub-groups by 11.49 points and 51.91 points respectively. As for Hotels, it suffered loss of 32.25 points today.
All in all, the scrips of 143 companies were traded, out of which 77 scrips gained, five remained intact and 61 scrips lost.
The best performer for the day were, Pathibhara Bikas Bank Limited (PBSL), closed at Rs 234, with gain of Rs 21 or 9.86 percent. Whereas, Nepal Insurance Co.Ltd. (NICL), closed at Rs 630, was the worst performer today with Rs 39 or 5.83 percent loss.
In terms of turnover, Chilime Hydro power Co. Ltd (CHCL), closed at Rs 2655, had the highest turnover today. Altogether, 14,997 share units of CHCL were traded through 105 transactions worth Rs 39,876,258.
The broker with the highest standalone dealing of CHCL was Broker No 35 (Kohinoor Investment and Securities Pvt.Ltd) with 15.71 percent totaling 4,714 shares trade amounting Rs 12,526,740 via 28 selling transactions.
The market turnover today stood at Rs 647,133,682, with total number of shares traded at 1,430,171 units which were traded through 3,769 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 1,044,172.20 Millions.
