NEPSE CONTINUES TO FALL

The market’s sluggish transition continues to persist in today’s trading also as the benchmark index tumbled by 2.93 points. Coming to the end, the market settled at 793.57 levels.

As most of the companies have declared and distributed dividends from the earning of past fiscal year, the investors now are offloading such shares in the market. In addition, the consecutive bearish movement in market has further compelled the investors to book their profit to avoid decrease in their earnings.

Apart from these things, this period of the year NEPSE tends to go for deeper correction if historical data is to go by. As the market has witnessed the second quarter report of the companies, the investors will be in wait and watch situation for the third quarter report so as to get better picture of dividend prospect from the listed companies in next fiscal year which attributes to lethargic movement in current time.

Coming to today’s trading, all the traded sub-indices experienced downfall. The highest decline was observed in Hydro sector as it dropped by 13.62 points. Similarly, Others, one the influential sector in NEPSE movement, plunged by 9.4 points.

Insurance and Hotels suffered a meagre loss totaling 0.2 and 0.76 point respectively. As for banking  and financial institutions sub-indices, Banking skid by 2.46 points, Development decreased by 2.65 points and Finance descended by 3.87  points.

Altogether there were trade of 115 scrips, among which 38 scrips gained, 12 scrips remained intact and 65 scrips suffered loss.

The best performer among the traded scrips was Kakre Bihar Bikash Bank Ltd. (KKBL), closed at Rs 129, with a gain of Rs 8 or 6.61 percent. Whereas, Kankai Bikas Bank Ltd. (KNBL), closed at Rs 122, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 9 or 6.87 percent.

The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was Nepal Bank Limited (NBL), closed at Rs 330, with turnover of Rs 46,582,257, totaling 141,319 units which were traded through 29 transactions.

 The Broker with the highest transaction of NBL was Broker No 28 (Shree Krishna Securities Limited) with 86.88 percent standalone dealing, totaling 245,326 units worth Rs 80,946,820 via six transactions, which include two matching transactions tallying 121,813 units worth Rs 40,194,710.

The market turnover today stood at Rs 305,447,330, with total number of shares traded at 723,975 units which were traded through 2,537 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 808,546.16 Millions.
