Nepse closed at 373.75 level

Increase in all sub-indices, apart from Hotel sector, drags Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) up by 5.28 points. With the opening of the market, Nepse lost 2 points within the first 10 minutes of the trade but with the improvement in sectoral indices, the benchmark index started gaining momentum to end the day at 373.75 level adding 1.43% points than preceding day’s closing level.

In today’s trading session, Sanima Bank Limited Promoter Share, which closed at Rs 140, was the Top Gainer with Rs 10 or 7.69%. Whereas NDEP Development Bank Limited, which settled at Rs 79, was the Top Loser with Rs 4 or 4.82%. Likewise, National Hydro Power Co. had the highest traded share of 20,615 units in today’s session. On the other hand, with 9,822 shares worth Rs 5,855,127 via 48 transaction Bank of Kathmandu (BOK) had the highest turnover; in which Broker No 6 (Agrawal Securities Pvt. Limited) was the most active broker with 47.56% stand alone dealing of BOK, amounting Rs 2,784,820 of 4,691 units via 5 transactions which includes matching worth Rs 2,421,444 of 4,083 units via 3 transactions.

Except the Hotel sector loss of 3.69 or 0.75%, all other sectors added points than prior day. Banking, which weighs the most in the secondary market, improved by 7.2 or 2.14% points than preceding day to close at 343.8 level . Similarly, Hydro also gained 9.32 or 1.52% points to be the second highest gainer in sectoral wise followed by Others, Development, Finance and Insurance with 1.07%, 0.42%, 0.16% and 0.004% points respectively. Sensitive index added 1.48 or 1.56% to settle at 95.92 points while Float index also gained 0.408 or 1.39% point than previous day’s closing level.

Total scrips traded for the day was 75 with 45 gainers and 19 losers with total turnover of Rs 41,954,738 which is comparatively Rs 12,790,274 higher than prior trading session. Overall 147,160 units of shares were traded via 911 transactions with total market capitalization of Rs. 352,993.99 millions.
