NEPSE CLOSED ABOVE 800 LEVEL

Following yesterday’s sluggish movement, the market today came to witness some strength in its transition as the local bourse made a steady incline of 4.77 points to breach the 800 level yet again. The benchmark index today closed at 803.1 level.

Attributed by some closure in the political arena of Nepal, as Congress has shown some flexibility regarding the Home Ministry issue if CPN- UML opt to change its candidate for the post, the confidence of the investors came to gain some strength.

The latest development has revived the market sentiment in positive zone, which was seen in today’s market as most of the scrip landed on green terrain. Among the seven traded sectors, only Hydro suffered a loss of 1.91 points while the rest settled on green.

Hotel and Insurance continued with its double digit growth as both surged by 70.38 and 31.67 points respectively. Among BFIs sectors, Development and Finance made a healthy incline of 6.45 and 5.97 points while Banking was only able to increase by 1.74 points. As for Others, it advanced by 1.18 points.

Altogether there were trade of 123 scrips, among which 78 scrips gained, 15 scrips remained intact and 30 scrips suffered loss.

The best performers among the traded scrips were Siddhartha Insurance Limited (SIL), closed at Rs 429, and Taragaon Regency Hotel (TRH), closed at Rs 242, with a gain of 10 percent i.e. Rs 39 and Rs 22 respectively. Whereas, Karnali Development Bank Limited (KRBL), closed at Rs 111, was the worst performer with loss of Rs 9 or 7.5 percent.
 
The company with the highest turnover in today’s session was National Hydro Power Co. (NHPC), closed at Rs 115, with turnover of Rs 16,020,100, totaling 143,970 units which were traded through 136 transactions.

The Broker with the highest transaction of NHPC was Broker No 56 (Sri Hari Securities Pvt. Ltd.) with 12.16 percent standalone dealing, totaling 34,550 units worth Rs 3,895,400 via 26 buying transactions.

The market turnover today stood at Rs 269,540,581, with total number of shares traded at 1,682,683 units which were traded through 2,618 transactions. The market capitalization at the end of the day stood at Rs 817,831.16 Millions.
